The Life in the UK Test in one minute
It is the statutory Knowledge of Language and Life test. You need it for Indefinite Leave to Remain or for British citizenship.
You sit the test at an approved test centre, on a computer, with photo identification. The result is pass or fail only — no score is given.
This app prepares you for that test. It does not book it and it is not part of it.
Four ways to prepare
Pick the one that matches the time you have today.
Mock exam
A full simulation of the real test. The timer runs down and the paper is graded at the end. Questions you have attempted least and failed most come first.
Practice by chapter
No timer and no score. The answer is revealed as soon as you choose, with a short explanation in both languages.
Weak spots and bookmarks
Retry the questions you got wrong and return to the ones you saved. The list updates itself as you improve.
Marathon
All 930 questions in one run. It saves a checkpoint as you go, so you can stop and continue later.
Progress you can see
Attempted and mastered counts for every chapter, and a readiness figure for the whole handbook.
Question history
Each question carries its own record — Seen 3×, Missed 1× — so you know what still needs work.
Exam history
Every mock exam is kept with its score, date and the questions you missed.
Works offline
The whole question bank is stored on your device after the first launch. No connection needed to study.
Light and dark themes
The app follows your phone setting, or you can choose a theme yourself.
13 interface languages
Menus, explanations and question translations, with English always shown first.
English first, your language beneath
The real test is in English, so English is always the main text. Your language sits under it in a quieter style, for the question, every option and the explanation.

Before you download
Is this the official test?
No. This is a practice app made by an independent developer. The official Life in the UK Test is booked through the government service and sat at an approved test centre. This app is not affiliated with the UK Government or the Home Office.
Are these the real test questions?
No. The real questions are not published. Our 930 questions are written from the official study material, Life in the United Kingdom: A Guide for New Residents (3rd edition), which is the only legitimate source the real test draws on.
How many questions are in the test, and how long do I get?
The real test has 24 questions and you have 45 minutes. The Mock exam mode uses exactly the same format.
What is the pass mark?
You need 75%, which is 18 correct answers out of 24. The result is given as pass or fail only. You are not told your score.
Is the app free?
Yes. The app is free and supported by ads. There are no in-app purchases and no subscription.
Do I need an internet connection?
Only for the first launch. After that the whole question bank is on your device, so you can study offline. Ads need a connection to load.
Which languages does it support?
Thirteen: English, Hindi, Punjabi, Polish, Urdu, Romanian, Italian, Bengali, German, Chinese (Simplified), Chinese (Traditional), Spanish and French. Questions always show English first, with your language beneath.
What happens if I fail?
You can book the test again. There is a waiting period of seven days between attempts, and you pay the fee each time. Use Weak spots mode to work through what you missed before you rebook.
